Miles of Memories
Welcome to my travel blog!
They say the itch to travel is something you’re born with, and for me, that journey started in the back of my dad's truck towing our family’s travel trailer. It doesn’t matter whether it’s by plane, train, or automobile — I simply love exploring this beautiful country and making memories along the way.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are family trips in our travel trailer. Every couple of years we would head out on a big adventure to places like Niagara Falls, Blue Ridge Parkway, Hershey, Emerald Isle, and Gettysburg. Those trips sparked a lifelong love of travel.
After I got married, Lewie and I bought our first travel trailer in 2006. We often traveled with my parents to their motorcoach rallies and sprinkled in a few solo beach trips and getaways with friends. In 2010, we set up our trailer along the Shenandoah River in Luray on my in-laws’ land, creating even more special memories. As our family grew, we upgraded to a larger trailer in 2019 to give our pre-teen a little more space. During those years, most of our adventures were by plane, train, or car — but we never stopped dreaming about travel in a trailer or motorhome.
For years, Lewie and I talked about getting a motorhome and traveling across the U.S. Finally, in the summer of 2023, we decided — why wait? — and bought our Winnebago
Class A motorhome. Since then, we’ve taken some incredible summer trips and made memories we’ll never forget.
This blog is a chronicle of those journeys — past and present — and a place to share our adventures with friends and family. I hope you enjoy following along as much as we enjoy the ride.
